Reflection:
The wanderings of goats are not dissimilar from our own wanderings. Most striking is their nature of browsing as a herd. We only have a single GPS collar worn by a single goat because they will always be found together. It is part of their created nature to find comfort and safety in community – to find green pastures in which to lie down together. In our world we too often find ourselves on our own, forced by structures or choices into isolation. Today, make we take a page from the book of God’s Creation, focusing on the chapter of goats, to remind us that community is essential to our own created nature as well.
