The Camp Matters Permanent Fund provides support for Disciples camps both today and tomorrow. Each donation is split 50/50, with half going directly to the camp of your choosing, and half going to the CMPF held with the Christian Church Foundation. As the Permanent Fund grows, it will provide micro-grants and loans to help with programs, personnel, and projects at our Disciples camps. Choose “Illinois and Wisconsin – Camp Walter Scott” on the drop down list of camps and conference centers.

Camp Walter Scott exists today in part because of the generosity of individuals. In the case of retirement funds, those with IRAs and over the age of 70 and 1/2 can donate up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution.

In a similar fashion, when planning estates, Camp Walter Scott can be named as a beneficiary which will not incur taxes on the donated assets. For both retirement and estate donations, check out more detailed information below.

*Please note you should always consult with a financial professional when making distributions from your retirement accounts. Laws are subject to change and this information is not legal advice, but an option to consider when donating.
