Who We Are

Walter Scott Camp and Learning Center is a ministry of the Christian Church in Illinois-Wisconsin (CCIW), hosting CCIW-sponsored youth and family camps during the summer months and opening its’ doors for other individuals and groups to use the facility as well.

Walter Scott Camp and Learning Center is a sanctuary in the world for all Creation and people.

Who Is Welcome

People and groups of all faiths or no faith are welcome to use the facilities. We are delighted to host a variety of groups for overnight and day functions including: churches, faith communities, non-profits, educational groups, governmental agencies, families, weddings, businesses, schools, clubs, and many more.

When We Are Open

Our facilities include many structures, such as the year-round log cabins, retreat house, and dining hall/lodge. You can find more information about these facilities on our facilities page.

What Makes Us Different

We differ from some other recreational camps as we and many who use the facility consider the grounds and forest to be a deeply spiritual place. Walter Scott, like all land, is a place for which we feel a deep ecological responsibility. We live into this responsibility by our practices on the grounds.
