“Where should we find God if God is always moving?
On the journey?” (The Two Popes, 2019). As autumn
gives way to winter quicker than we may like, Walter
Scott is in one of our more visible seasons of transition.
Our fall colors have been on grand display and now
are fading away into the background. We are reminded
by this very visible change that nothing in the entirety
of Creation is unmoving or unchanging. From people to
plants and pollinators to persimmons, we are invited to
be open to the movements of the spirit which invite us
all to follow God on the journey. We will know we are
on the right path when it leads towards compassion for
the marginalized in a model which mirrors Christ.
