Brittney
Hi! I am Brittney Moran, one of the co-directors of Chi Rho camp. I’ve been a counselor and director for this camp for over 10 years. It is one of the highlights of my year to spend the week at camp sharing God’s love with our youth. My childhood and adolescence was profoundly effected by my summer camp experiences at Camp Walter Scott. I look forward to sharing the joy and love that I felt during my youth with the youth of today.
Outside of camp, I live in Decatur and am a member of Central Christian Church. I serve as the Junior High and High School Sunday School teacher and assist with Youth Group. I am married to my husband, Trent, and we have a 5 year old daughter named Blair. She has spent time at Camp Walter Scott and loves it, specifically the goats! I teach Early Childhood Special Education in Decatur, IL. It is one of my greatest joys working with children with various needs. This summer, I look forward to seeing and catching up with returning campers as well as meeting new campers!
Danny
My name is Danny Bradfield. I’m the senior pastor of First Christian Church in Bloomington, IL. In addition to being a pastor, I’ve also been a substitute teacher and nature camp instructor, as well as a frequent Disciples camp counselor/director, mostly in California. I live in Bloomington with my wife Ginger, one of my two adult children, a cat, and several guinea pigs. My other child lives in San Diego. I direct camp because it is the best way churches can help young people embrace the idea that they are loved by God. Plus, it’s fun! My favorite camp memory is watching a middle school camper from the big city who came to camp reluctantly look up at the stars one night and gasp in astonishment and say: “Woah! The kids back home have never seen this!” This will be my second year directing at Camp Walter Scott. I look forward to seeing how my California camp leadership experience, combined with the camp leadership experience of those who have been leading camp for years here in Illinois—-AND the fresh ideas of those who are new to camp leadership—will all work together to create the best week of Chi-Rho camp yet!
