Prayer and Curse

”                                                               I say something
to myself that’s between a prayer and a curse – how dare we live
                                       on this earth.
                    […]
but […] I’m made out of old stars…” and so are you.

Grief is a natural and healthy human emotion. In the depths of winter and bitter cold, it is magnified for many people where our sentiments at times are indeed between a silent prayer and a curse. And still, we are made out of old stars, meaning that the stuff which makes up our bodies was once shining brilliantly as a star and will someday in billions or trillions of years, do so again. This is the complexity of the human experience God has made us into for a brief time; your grief in whatever season has brought it is true, but so is your divinely made brilliance. Do not carry your grief today without also carrying your brilliance.
