Camp Workdays
The Walter Scott Camp & Learning Center offers four work-days each year for folks to contribute their labors to this ministry, two in the spring and two in the fall. You can expect on work-days to have two complimentary meals provided by the campgrounds; The schedule for each workday begins with Continental Breakfast at 8:00AM, Work Projects at 8:30AM, Lunch 12:00PM, Work Projects again at 12:45PM and an end of the day at 4:00PM. We offer for volunteers to stay the night before or after the workdays as needed (lodging is on a first come, first serve basis in our retreat house).
The tools, supplies, and paper print outs of instructions for your project will be ready to go when you arrive (though you’re always welcome to check with us in advance if you have your own tools you want to bring or supplies to donate). Camp Workweek
The Camp Service Week or Handyperson Skills Camp is a week of working on projects at the campground. These vary from year to year and depend on what has been accomplished at previous workdays, but you can expect a need for electrical, plumbing, painting, and general handyperson skills. If you don’t possess these skills, this is a great opportunity for you to bring your willing attitude and let someone who is experienced in these areas help show you the ropes! This year the camp will run from 4PM on Sunday, June 2, 2024 through 10AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
