Coronavirus Camp Statement

CWS Covid-19 Policies and Procedures 2022

Camp Walter Scott is a sanctuary in the world where all people of all ages can become stronger in their Christian witness to the world through the transforming power of experiencing God.

Camp Walter Scott is a multifaceted camp facility.  CCIW-sponsored youth camps run seven to eight weeks during the summer months. (in addition CCIW holds summer camp sessions at various facilities throughout the region).
Camp Walter Scott is available for youth and adult retreats during weekdays and weekends. Two log cabins, the retreat house and the South side shower house as well as the dining hall/activity center are winterized.  Cabin #1 has 8 bunks and 4 trundles and the Cabin #2 has 16 bunks–both cabins have bathroom facilities with showers.  Our newly renovated retreat house sleeps 16-22 persons, in 4 sleeping rooms (bunks) and host apartment with double bed and double hide-a-bed.
All denominations are welcome to use the facility-throughout the year. Catholics, Baptists, Mennonites, Presbyterians, public and parochial schools, mental health support groups, kids in crisis groups and private family groups use the camp.
Camp Walter Scott is owned and operated by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois and Wisconsin. Camp Walter Scott is open to all, without regard to race, religion, or national origin.
