Q: What grade level should I use for my child since camps are between school years?
A: Grade levels indicate the most recently completed grade. For instance, if your child just finished 8th grade and will be entering 9th grade in the fall, they are considered 8th grade for the purpose of our summer camps.
Q: Should my 3rd grader attend Beginners or JYF?
A: We leave this option up to parents/guardians. Some parents/guardians make a decision based upon a sibling or another child from their church attending one camp or the other, to keep the kids together. Sometimes the decision is made based upon if you feel your child is ready for a full week of camp (JYF) or if they would do better with another year in the shorter camp format (Beginners).
Q: What is the campgrounds current Covid-19 policy for camps hosted by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois-Wisconsin?
A: Our full health policy can be found on our registration forms. The top level current guidelines are that masks are available but not required and if a camper is feeling sick we ask them to stay home.
Q: Are refunds available for cancellations?
A: Refunds are available (minus card processing fees and the registration software processing fees) until registrations close (normally two weeks prior to the start of a camp). After registration closes officially, refunds will be considered by staff on a case by case basis. Generally, if a camper is in good health and chooses to not attend camp, chooses to leave camp once it has started, or make decisions that cause them to be asked to leave camp, refunds will not be offered.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: If you are in need of financial assistance to attend a CCIW Summer Camp, we encourage you to reach out via our contact form. We will work with you and your local congregation to help find a path to camp.
