Reflection: Holy Hope

Reflection:

In the stillness of the winter, the cold bites at skin and crystalizes breath. Short days filled with gray skies are the melody of the season for many. And yet, winter is not evil nor is it lacking of hope – it simply hides away in places we have not been trained to look. In the boroughs where soil and roots embrace, life rests. Under fallen leaves and frost many parts of Creation slumber. Under icy surfaces the tempo of movement becomes nearly imperceptible in the places the light strains to reach. Hope has not left – it remains ever kindled in the Creation of which God has made us a part. Hope too rests within you, even if you struggle at times to find it. The hope within you, just like the slumber of so much life in the wilderness, is divine. When you are able, notice that hope and share it through words and actions both.
