We are excited to announce at Walter Scott, our advisory board, affirmed by our Regional Church Council unanimously, has made the intentional choice to invest our finances through the lens of our faith with our partners at the Christian Church Foundation. Using the steps of Christ as our guide and the tradition of our denomination as a witness, our investments are moving to the Bostick Select Fund (named in honor of the Rev. Sarah Lue Bostick). Our discernment was galvanized by a desire to holistically Care for Creation in the current climate crisis and to exclude investment in fossil fuels (among many other criteria which uphold the intrinsic worth and image of God in each person). We know that to limit the suffering being caused by the climate crisis globally, a rapid movement away from fossil fuels is necessary. We will continue to work to help others make similar choices and advocate for a future that is brighter for all of God’s Creation.
